THE SCHOOL

Thomas More Scuola Paritaria, a bilingual school

The Thomas More Scuola Paritaria is a bilingual school with an international educational and didactic approach,
which provides an innovative teaching offer. Situated in Palermo’s city center, the school building is completely renovated and extends over 3,000 square meters. It is divided into three floors distributed between primary,
secondary and high schools, canteen and kitchen.

The building benefits from a large tree-lined outdoor area with two sports fields, for the game of basketball and five-a-side football.
The school hosts a total of just over 370 students (of which 70 from upper secondary school, 65 from middle school and just over 230 from primary school) with an increase, in the last two years, demonstrating the educational urgency of the city.

HISTORY

The social cooperative

The Thomas More social cooperative was established in July 2013 by a group of parents with the aim of creating a cultural platform of excellence capable of combining teaching, human training and the development of international culture.

In 2017, the current management joined the company with the aim of accompanying human growth and the social integration of citizens in a stimulating and engaging context, while respecting the uniqueness of the individual..

The new direction, in giving continuity to previous successful educational experiences in Sicily, marks a change of pace that leads to the strengthening of private schools and the activation of supplementary services for children and families for whom there was a strong need in the area.

The work the Thomas More social cooperative did in the last three years has brought, in Palermo, a small
change among the stakeholders concerning education and the role school has in young people’s growth.
